Drivers Licence Mentoring.
Opening the door to opportunity.
We know that many people in our community face real barriers when it comes to getting their driver licence—whether that’s a lack of support, limited finances, or simply feeling overwhelmed by the process. For some, this means driving without the correct licence or outside their licence conditions. When caught, it can lead to a difficult cycle of fines, financial strain, and further disconnection, adding to the challenges they already carry.
That’s why we believe driver licence mentoring matters. Often, people just need a bit of help—whether that’s support with anxiety, guidance through the paperwork, or someone to walk them through the process step by step. With the right encouragement, what once felt out of reach becomes possible.
By journeying with people as they work towards getting their licence, we’re not just helping them meet legal requirements—we’re boosting confidence, improving employment opportunities, and helping them feel more connected and empowered in their lives. It’s a simple act that can open up a world of new possibilities.

Help drive change.
As a volunteer mentor, you will play a key role in helping someone take meaningful steps toward a brighter future.
Through weekly meetings, you will provide guidance, support, and encouragement to a learner driver, helping them gain the skills and confidence they need to succeed. You will walk alongside them as they navigate challenges, set goals, and celebrate milestones. Fostering independence and opening doors to new opportunities.
Guided by the Te Whare Tapa Whā model of wellbeing, you will support your learner in growing across all areas of life, spiritual, physical, mental, and social. By providing practical tools and emotional support, you will help inspire hope, resilience, and a stronger future for both individuals and the community.
